   News

3/11/2006

Obviously the big news of the day is a complete overhaul of the site.  I pray that in doing so I didn't break anything important.  I think that is my biggest fear with working with my webpage, that I might break something involving the elf ear site.  That would be a disaster.

Another update today.  I finished two pieces in the past week.  I was working on getting them scanned and uploaded.  They are now up at DeviantArt, and are posted to Epilogue and Elfwood.  They will definitely be up at Elfwood within the week.  We'll see if they are good enough for Epilogue.

Speaking of Epilogue, Mike and I submitted work late last year to be included in the Masters of Fantasy Collection.  In December we posted that we both got accepted.  Well, they just got back with us again to say the CD collection will be out soon, it is currently at the press.  However, I was shocked to find out that Nightmare was the recipient of the Best Action Award.  My one-hit-wonder wins again.

It takes a while for me to post updates to this site.  I know that is not the best way to attract people to this site, but with moving into a new apartment, finishing up some illustrations for a client, and trying to work on new art, there isn't all that much time left.  Anyway, I was posting to say that I have finished my newest piece.

It's been a week since Dragon*Con, and those that visit this site most likely were at Dragon*Con to see that I won First Place Amateur and Best 2-D Amateur.  I was so excited to learn that I won an award from Dragon*Con, and I have to say that is the coolest award hanging on Nightmare

I was also posting to say that we now have T-shirts of Nightmare and Yin Lang available, as well as bumper stickers.  So take a look at what we got and pick it up if you like.  See you soon.

Hello to everyone from the Great Lakes Medieval Faire.  In one of my few chances to have internet access during the show, I have decided to post and tell everyone thanks for the support and discussions at the Art Booth.  I have some work on display now up at Epilogue and at Deviant Art.   Please check it out, comment on it, and then come and talk to us if you make it out to one of our shows.  Talk to you soon.

This coming weekend Mike and I will be switching Faires.  I will be heading to TN, and he will go down to work GA.  I'll miss all those crazy kids down in GA, but I will try to visit the last weekend.

I finished a new piece last week, Birth.  It is available for purchase in two sizes, just click the link below for ordering.  The original charcoal piece, 32" x 20", is currently hanging at Gallery 51 in Forsyth, GA.

I just got home from MidSouthCon.  Mike, Sara, and I hung out on Friday and did absolutely nothing, but Saturday was much better.  Megan, Michael, Casper, and Lauren arrived Saturday afternoon, and we had a good time, except that the dance had NO good music.  Oh well, the elves plan to throw our own party next year, so stay tuned for details.

I am happy to report that Nightmare won 1st Place Professional.  Prints can be ordered from the link below.

I finished a new piece last Thursday morning, and then sold it on Friday night at the Spring Untitled show, Adapt.  This piece, Life,  is the second in my Gesture series, which began with Losing My Grip.  This style is just the beginning of what I have planned for this series.

After years of telling people at Renaissance Festivals and conventions that I would have a personal website, I have finally sat down, put my current art project aside, and gotten the basic website done.  Hopefully the site won't change too drastically in the next few weeks, months, or whatever.  Until then, take a look around and buy some art.  See you on the circuit.

Just got back from Chattacon XXX with Mike and Nigel.  I was so excited to have new art exhibited in the art show that I completely forgot to have prints available.  I am so used to working Ren Faires that I haven't gotten the Con scene down yet.

The good news is that my new piece, Nightmare, won second place Professional as well as People's Choice.  I can't wait to get the piece up at Dragon*Con '05 and some other major shows this year.

Speaking of Dragon*Con, I was quite surprised to meet up with some acquaintances from this year, the Rebecca's.  We ended up hanging out for most of the Con, and even played a bit of Hang-Man until about 4 am.  Hmm, what sorta insanity do I partake in during Cons.
